Stock wheels? If they are aftermarket what is the offset?

Xsta Z 28 Oct 13, 2004 02:10 PM

On what wheels? . . . .

greekss Oct 13, 2004 10:13 PM

C5 replicas with the f-body offset.

I have 285/40-17s (GS-D3 Goodyear) on my car with a
1" drop, have not rubbed anywhere even on some times
where I hit the bump-stops. Stock SS 10-spoke rims.

Ryan02SS Oct 15, 2004 12:51 PM

My 285 GSD3's on my stock corroded 10 spokes rubbed in front at full steering lock. Just barely but noticeable. The rubber fender material needed to be pushed back some and it's held in place via double sided tape. Under hard cornering my drivers rear tire would rub the inner fenderwell. Never had got the passenger side to rub. I had to BFH it in some but covered the hurt area with POR-15 in the grey color. Unless your inspector Gadget you would never know it's been pounded in. Stock suspension height.

JUSTINASS Oct 15, 2004 03:03 PM

Do ya'll think I will be ok running 285 GSD3's front and back. ProKit lowering - 17" factory ZR1's. I am ordering them the end of this month.

Maybe its time to get new rims costa

Have you ever dropped the rear out of that car? The reason I ask is your rear end might not be center on one side. Might want to look into that if it was only rubbing on one side.

Hi there greekss, I have the 285/40/17 Kumho Ecsta MXs on all four corners and no problem. I had DT fit two up front and just a little rubbing on hard cornering up front on the plastic. Nothing to sweat about. You must be running a rim that no other F-BODY has or use. I have the Eibach Sportline springs and KYB AGX all around. My car dropped 2-2 1/2 inches with no problem with 285s. Good Luck

Actually, I am having a similar problem, but the OUTSIDE is getting cut by the fender when i hit a big bump and suspension drops down. I have a pro kit and 285's on 17x10 smoothies. I guess I'll have to bend the fender up on the inside or something. I can see marks where there are cuts into the tread, and little strips of rubber hanging off.

Hi there LSUxBlake, I hope you're not running the 17x10s in front. I have the 285/40/17 Kumho Ecsta MXs on 9 inch stock SS rims and no problems. Check you offsets even though BC has the correct offsets for the smoothies. Hope this helps.

2MuchRiceMakesMeSick, Nope, never have had the rear dropped before. The axle is also centered with my Edelbrock Adj Panhard Rod.

I am running the 17x10's all the way around, but the fronts arent giving me trouble. The problem I'm having is only on the rear passenger side.

Get an adjustable panhard bar and take it to a decent alingment shop.

I have pro kit, 315s rear and 285s front - no problems after some hammering. Check my site for pics and FAQs.

LSUxBlake Oct 17, 2004 11:28 PM

I have an adj. panhard bar, maybe that is the problem....
