17's or 18's
 

I am wanting to buy the c5 y2k wheels. Should I do 17's or 18's all the way around? I want to keep all the sizes the same, I don't want 17's in front and 18's in back. Which one's do yall think will look the best?

I think 18s will look better, but on the downside, your car will probably end up being a bit slower due to the extra weight.

get the 18's, you got something else for the track

I've got 16's and I'm looking to upgrade. I was wondering how a larger size would affect performance and if there are rims out there that are bigger but was as much as a 16" rim.

So would 18's look good without the car being lowered? I don't think that I am going to lower the car anytime soon.

OEM Z06 wheels are pretty light for what they are. You can always look into some forged wheels like IForged or HREs, but they are also $$$$. Pretty much any wheel that is reasonably inexpensive, but larger than stock, will weigh more and have a negative effect on acceleration.

get some raceing rims if it matters too much about weight...18's all the way

I wish manufacturers would post the weights of their rims online. So what are the best widths to have for a T/A? 11" wide in the back, 9" in the front? And does a bigger wheel hurt acceleration a lot or just a little...something you won't notice.

Im not worried about weight. These c5's will just be for daily driving. I have others to race on. Will 18's look ok without the car being lowered?

I don't think having big wheels w/o lowering looks good, especially if you get a small tread thickness. I think 18" will bring out the "4x4" look more than the stock 16" do. When I had by 18's w/o lowering it didnt look too bad because I have a farily tall tire. With that said between 17 and 18 w/o lowering, I'd go 18".

The tire/rim combo I want is a good look and good performance for street racing. I'll get a set of slicks for the track.

16->18's wow your in for sticker shock on nice tires ;) and less sidewall bigger rim, esp the knockoff replica junk you probably gonna bend them up quicker.

they do look nice but its hard for some of us to justify the cost of 18's all around with the way these cars like to eat um up.

Tires for 18s are expensive. Im running 15 inch rims on my car and I think it looks great. Really agressive looking.

So should I just do the 17's all the way around if I don't want to spend my life saving on tires?
