Nitto DR's....Wheelhoppers?

After a few runs on my new Nittos, I have some pretty bad hops. They are not big bounces, but a bunch of little ones through the 60 foots. I cooked them up pretty good too.

Can I cure this with BMR LCA's? I got 'em in my garage.

I was dumping the clutch at ~2700-3000 rpms with 18-19 lbs. in the DR's. Lower the psi? I was cutting 1.9 60's and I use the Harlan Two Step on launches.

Input is appreciated.

BMR's should help you out and maybe an airbag

i've searched and stuff...but i either 1. don't remeber or 2. can't find what a harlan two step is...can you just give me a detailed explanation of what it does?

An rpm control device, a.k.a, "stutter box," esp. helpful to M6 owners.

You pre-set your launch rpms, mash the gas pedal and clutch to the floor, pop the clutch, and away you go. You leave the line at whatever rpm you decide on. Great device.

I have a hard time watching the tree and holding my rpms steady by looking at my tach.

The BMR relocation brackets solved my wheel hop but the LCAs may help a bit if your hop is not that bad. I would also try a lower PSI. My best 60's on the Nittos has come at about 12psi cold (probrably 14-15psi hot). I leave at about 3,200rpm and if the car hooks it will usually spin the wheel in the tire alittle. I do have 2.73s though so leaving at 3,200rpm with your gears may be alittle much for the Nittos.

My old car did that and I adjusted the pinion angle and it worked and started digging instead of having wheelhop. I think LCA's are useless....A friend of mine cuts low 1.4s in his car with the stock everything except for the torque arm.

Great input guys.

I will try to lower the psi along with the BMR LCA's first. Then I will be looking more towrads the pinion angle adjustment. The LCA's are already here, and so that, plus bringing the tire pressure down will be my next shot at a good 60 foot.

1.4 60 foots?!

Man, I would be cutting mid 11's with that!
