275/60/15 or 295/60/15 on 15x10.5 prostars? Which will look better/ fit better on the car? I know I will have to grind the calipers but I don't plan on running a spacer becasue I don't want to install longer studs just yet. Can I even run these? Thanks |

pics? |
i had a 275-60 on a 10" rim...and it works...but that size tire works better on an 8" rim. so keep that in mind. |
So what should I get for the 10" rim that will work? |
I'm going to run the 275/50/15 Nitto on my 10's like Derek98Z, I saw a few cars pics in threads on here that looked really good with that setup. I was thinking the 325/50/15's also but my car is a DD and M/T's or BFG's and rain do not mix. I love the look of the bigger tire in the rear but the 275's will ahve to do for now, 'casue that's all that Nitto makes and a 275/60/15 on a 10" wheel looks strange sometimes.... |
275/60/15 looks good IMO on my 15x10" bogart. here is a shot of it. i dont like the tire bubbling out. i like the stretched look - like small class racers have it set up. click on links http://www.revxtreme.com/gallery/alb...artsoncar1.jpg http://www.revxtreme.com/gallery/alb...nadamscar1.jpg |
you know you're right, that does look good, but the offset is different on that car. Obviously a narrowed rear. P I M P ! |
Offset does not matter. Some 275-60-15's are wider than others. Nobody makes 295 dr's right? So you'd have to get some truck H rated 295's that look good but will hook like you dipped the tires in crisco. |

Will the Mickey Thompson 275 60's hook on a car with 450+rwhp and about as much torque with 3:42's or am I just dreaming? I'm looking for a rim/tire combo that will work well when I want to run N/A. I have the MT 10.5 15 w's for when I run nitrous but was thinking a drag radial would grow less and effectively give me a bit more gear on the top end. |
So considering I do not want to go too tall on the tire, I should stick with the 275s? |
with the right suspension and esp an automatic car, the 275 M/T has gone 1.44 on atleast one car that i know of on this site. |

OK. So I am going to go with the 26" tire ( 275/50/15). Is it absolutely necessary to run a spacer? I've search adn read alot about this last night and found mixed answers. I've heard that without a spacer I will be grinding alot. Is it safe to grind that much out of the calipers? They are supposed to sink the heat and taking more material away negates that. According to some posts, If I run the spacer, then I will need longer lugs. The ARP are longer at 2.5" but not long enough. GM makes 3", so I've read, but are not strong enough. Then there are Moroso, but they are 1/2" which means I will have to drill/tap all four corners to run them. This just seems like it snowballs into a big PITA. I'm almost considering taking these Welds back and just calling Steve@SJM for some Bogart prices. Much info is appreciate greatly. Thanks |
