Wheel Spacer's
 

I just got a new set of GS-D3's and went with 285's on the rear. I like how they fill out the quarter's more but I would like them to come out alittle more. I'm running 18/9.5 Z06's with a 56mm offset. What is the thickest wheel spacer I can run with out having to change wheel studs and be safe. I'm thinking of running one about 3mm think. Because I've heard a 53mm offset Z06's is about the best. Thanks for the help.

You'll never see 3mm so no sense in adding it. Any spacer you're going to see a difference with will most likely need longer studs.

I found some on e-bay there only like 8bucks so I might try them out. But thanks anyways. :D

To save you some time and a few dollars, your looking at about the thickness of a thin washer...if you want to see what it will do, get a few washers and temporarily put them on the studs to look at how the wheel will move outward.

I think you'll find your not going to see any difference.

To see really any difference in the way the wheels sit, even a 1/4 inch spacer isn't going to be noticable. I mention this all the time, this is about the thickness of a pencil. You could ask 100 people if they see a difference most (if not all) folks wouldn't see it.

To be noticable 1/2 inch is really the starting point. This isn't something that would be easily obtainable with spacers and using your stock studs. For that mater, even 1/4 inch w/60 deg lugs are on the edge of acceptable.

Hopefully my suggestion of temporarily using washers on a few studs will give you an idea of appearance adjustments. Don't drive with them this way though :usa:

I was going to order 1/2 inch spacers for my car but I thought that would be too much so I ordered 1/4, I hope I can notice the difference :(

Yeah I definetly wouldn't drive with washer's on there. I guess I was just thinking of how much better 50mm or 53mm offset Z06's look compared to a 56mm. That's where I came up with the 3mm spacer thinkness. I really took a good look at the offset of the rear wheels today after getting my GS-D3's friday. Getting 285's out back acheived most of the look that I was going for.
I really wish I wouldn't have been cheap when I bought my wheels and got 10.5's. But oh well these will do for now.

You may notice it, but I find it hard to believe the typical person could see any difference. Take two 1/2" washers and put them together on a few wheel studs to give you an idea of what 1/4" spacers will do for you.

Typically I believe most of those styles are sold in either ~35mm offset and ~55mm offset which is ~.75inches in difference. That is definitly would be noticable from the average person.

The only off-set I've seen on Z06's is 53mm and 56mm I did see a 58mm one time. OE Concepet's makes something around 65mm for the corvette.

my numbers were just approx. values....I do believe they have something down around 35mm though. THere's a discussion somewhere on the board from someone asking which ones that they had or wanted...one of the other.
