Best rims and tires for 180mph runs
What sizes and offsets, everything like that. 1998 WS6 T/A
Also, whats the best street tire for traction (in the rear)?
Will an R-Compound tire be better than a drag radial or slick?

Just thought I could hear about some better tires than I have (GS-D3 GY 315/35/17) and any offset of the rims that help stability. Maybe a different tire up front than the factory 17x9.

Y-rated tires are suitable up to 187 supposedly.. any Z-rated is anything higher than that. id get z-rated tires, anything from this list should be fine http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...ay.jsp?type=MP

Your balance and your alignment will play alot into the stability of your car at those high speeds too. A very high quality Z rated tire will be fine.....I'm sure you're not planning on taking hard corners at 180 lol

id be starting to worry about the front end lifting up... Z rated tires would be enough, but i would think you would need some downforce in the front and rear probably.. oh and i wouldnt do it on a public road..

Just to throw out there, I had BFG drag radials size 295/35/18's on a 18x10.5 wheels on my last LS1. The suspension was completely stock and I got it up to 155mph and it was smooth as can be even when I went around a bend.
I'm sure any Z rated tire will work great. And if you have some SFC's/LCA's and aftermarket shocks/springs Im sure you wont have a problem at all.
