Default Info on Pro stars/ draglites

Just thought I'd post some info I've found, having owned both draglites and pro stars on the same car. Both sets were the same size and BS, 15X10 7.5" BS, 15X3.5 in front.

Obviously both required grinding the calipers. I've found my pro stars required more grinding up front to clear than the draglites. I wasn't running a spacer on either.

Now for the rears. I think the draglites required more grinding than the pro stars, as I now have alot of clearance (brakes were originally clearanced for draglites). The pro stars however appear to have about 1/4" less BS than the draglites. I'm running 325/50/15 MT DR's, and with the draglites it was really close inside. With the pro stars I have alot more room, but of course its making the wheel stick out that much farther.

Just thought I'd post this, if someone ever does a search this info may be helpful. All in all, both rims work fine, but there are some small differences.

I started to gring my front calipers and I have taken a lot of material off and it still rubs. Do you gave a pic or two of the finished product so I can see how much more I need to grind???

If you can track down some, you could run some 1/8" IROC spacers. They're thin enough to not loose much stud for the lugnuts, but will give you a little extra clearance if needed. Worked good for me.

Hey guys,
Holeshot wheels has just released their first set of drag rims for the F-body. They required NO grinding and look great. They are also less than the Bogarts. I think they look great! I have not tried the 15" on the rear yet but I think they will clear with no grinding. He made me 16" for the rear and 15" for the front. Let me know if you are interested. I already put a thread here that says "What do you think about these?"

God Bless,
Keith
