pirelli's on 9.5

hey guys would pirellis 255 45 17 tires fit on a 9.5 wide rim i was looking on tirerack and it says it does, but when i scroll down the page through the list of tire sizes when i come upon it again it says it only goes up to 9.0 whats the deal?? does it fit a 9.5 or not?

I wouldn't recommend it . . tire is small for the rim width.

really?? according to tirerack it can go on to 9.5, also i have a pair of 245 on those rims right now and they work fine. is there any drawback to putting them on or just not optimal/wont get best performance?

It will fit on the rim but the sidewalls may be stretched out some. I ran a set of 205/55/16 tires on an 8" rim before. They fit and I never had problems but they were stretched a bit too much. If they fit up to a 9" rim you shouldn't have any problems...maybe some abnormal wear on the edges.
