Default Need new rims for the bird. suggestions....

Hello all. Right now on my bird i have 18x8 Privat fahrens. the 18x8 is the problem. The cost to widen them is about $400 and then i have to run spacers which i dont want to. I need more meat out back and wider so i can run some nitto DR's. Id like to fit some 305/35/18s out back. Would like require BFH or any other mods? Also, post up some suggestions on what you think would be a really sweet wheel on my car. Like to go staggered, maybe 18x8 or 9 up front and 18x10 or 10.5 ish out back with deeper dish. I dont have the loot for IForged or anything. I could drop maybe 1.5 grand on rims. Nothing suepr expensive but i want something nice..... I like the polished look best, not real into black but would like to see the black C6R motorsports in black on a black TA. Post up some pics and thoughts! thanks! heres a pic of my car now. Looks nice but iwant a change and need wider rears!

You should use a BFH for 305's.

I've always liked these wheels, and a lot of people on this site like them but I don't know if anyone has them.

People with sets of Boyds usually get them for under the price you were looking for. Those would look amazing on your car with 18x9 in the front and 18x10 in the back.

You'll have to ask owners what vendors they go to, but they get their sets for A LOT cheaper than what the boyd site has them listed at.

seriosuly i would get the rears widened, you would have much more of a custom look, for only 400$. I love the rims that you have on your car. Just run a 1inch spacer adapter, there much safer, something like this....

Yea im thinking that.... i could add the few inches i get to the lip for a deep dish look, but then the lip might look weird due to two different color metals and id have to get the lip chromed or powdercoated...... so i may jsut not worry about dish. How wide do you think i should widen. I really want to run a safe 305/35/18 Nitto DR. How much of a BFH mod will this require and what size rim should i widen to? Also, should i keep the dark hyper silver finish to the spokes or polish it or what? Thanks!

Ok heres my question.... I guess im interested in widening my rims now..... i just really like the look of them. How much wider could i go i nthe back with 18s on a sportline lowered car without mods? I want to be able to run 305 nittos. And to run 305 nittos safely, i would need to go how wide? And going this wide would require what mods? and what spacers if any? Hopefully not, Thanks a lot!

They are 18x8 now, not sure on the offset..... they came on car when i bought it. My question is..... i want to know how wide i need to go? 10 or 10.5 to safely run a nitto 305 out back. And going this wide, will it require spacers or any type of BFH mod or what? Thanks!

I did some searching and it appears your wheels have a +40mm offset. Your wheels sit 2mm further inside the fenderwell than mine do, which equates to just a hair over 1/16th of an inch...so a pretty negligible difference.

When I had my rears widened, I was originally going for a 10.5 width but I ended up with 11 inches. (The Ebay vendor I bought them from thought they were 8's and they were actually 8.5's, and since I had him send them directly to Weldcraft to save on shipping I ended up with a half inch more width than I planned on.) At that width the inner edge of the rim rests right on the bump stop. With a 10.5 inch width, you'll be in alot better shape than I am as far as having to do any mods. If you end up having to do any BFH'ing, it will be very minor. So a 10.5 width will be safe, will work with a 305 tire, and no spacer will be required.

(P.S.- If you end up getting them widened, make absolutely sure they're really 8 inches wide before you send them off so you don't end up with the same situation I have!)
