I ran them on my car with Z06 wheels for about 10K miles. They wore good. Handled well in autocrossing, but were not very good for acceleration. For the price they were a good value.

I just got some last week 285/40/17. I love them. With my old nittos 555s(not the drag) I could spin through first and second. Now it just barks second and third.

For the price they are pretty good tires.

PROS:

Good bang for the buck, look pretty cool, handle well, decent at the drag strip, not bad in wet.

CONS:

They are heavy, a little difficult to balance, seam a bit "hard" and noisey.

VERDICT:

Would I recommend them? YES, Would I buy them again? NO.

I drag/auto-X my '02 M6 WS6. I wanted a good tire combination for both. I went with the 275/40-17 Kumo MX's on the front and 275-17 Nitto DR.

This combination is killer.

PROS:
I love the grip of the Kumo's.
Great looking tire.
Great bang for the buck.

CONS:
They are a little noisey at highway speeds.
They don't last very long....15K max.(or 5 AutoX events)

I give'm a big thumbs up!!

I've got them on my '01 SS (275/35/18FR l 295/35/18RR) and I love them. Great tire for the money. The handling and lateral grip is excellent; traction is pretty good, much better than the 275/40/17 HPZ460 (or something like that) that was on my old 17" SS wheels, but they won't compete with Nitto DRs. For a regular street tire though, they're impressive and I'd definitely recommend 'em.

I've got a set of 285-40-17's on my 76 T/A and love them. They are a great street tire for the price. The 285's were on sale for 129ea. Thats cheaper then the 275's. They hook fairly well, but are no match for any of the drag radials. I have a hard time turning anythig less than 2.5-2.9 60 fts. I'm also pushing 500+ at wheels.
