Default Best tires for under $650??

I priced out Nitto 555s in a 275/40/17 and they all come back as $750 out the door with tax, mount and balance. I wasn't looking to spend that much right now, so what tire is decent for ~$650 out the door(set of four). I have Kuhmo Supra 712s right now, they lasted a long time but traction is nonexistent now. I want a better tire than these...

G-Force Sport
Firestone Wide Oval

Check out the prices on those. They're excellent tires from what I've been reading.

I bought Sumitomo HTRZ from this Ebay dealer. It seems to be a pretty good tire in ride quality but I can't say how they compare traction wise to the Kuhmos. Maybe go to the Tire Rack and do a comparison there.

The Kuhmos had pretty good grip in the turns, but at the drag strip it was pretty pathetic. Will the BFG sports be better, in the turns AND at the strip. What do they normally cost? ~~$$??

I just picked up a set of Toyo Proxys T1S tires for $99 each, $461 shipped off ebay(YES BRAND NEW). They got here yesterday and look pretty sweet. We'll get them on the car in the next week or two as soon as I burn off the stock Goodyears and get some pics doing it!
