Default 275(285)/35/18 performance tire brand recommendations

First of all I have searched but didn't find exactly what I was looking for in this forum. The time for me as come to change my previous Yokohama ES100 tires on my Z. They served me well and offered ok traction with pratically no road noise... They didn't exactly stick like I would of liked them to tho. Now I am on the lookout for the exact same tire size but a stickier tire. I know the stickier means useally less overall mileage but I don't really care I just want to hook. I am thinking about buying from tirerack.com since they were amazing the first time I dealt with them. They have :
Kumho ECSTA MX for 189$ a pop (they look pretty good for a cheap price??)
Bridgestone Potenza RE050A for 260$ a pop
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 for 249$ a pop (friend of mine had them on an eclipse they offered him great traction but what for a rear wheel drive car???)
BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 for 200$ a pop

I was also looking at the other Yoko's/Michelin/etc.. if they are any better

All in all I just need advice and previous experiences are welcome!!!

I have the KDW2's and they stick much better than my old Kuhmo Ecsta's. The Ecsta's were noisier on my car as well. I have P275/35/18's on all wheels.

I have the BF Goodrich KDW's on my car, great traction, no issues with them so far, I've had them for a little over 4 months now. I paid $150 each for them from discount tire direct because of a christmas discount. They are $175 each right now with free shipping. They did mess up on my order by sending me 2 incorrect tires but they were very prompt and courteous to correct it, and they gave me a second discount on the tires, I definately recommend ordering through them. http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...20&rd=17&ar=40
My friend has the GS-D3's, those are great tires. When he goes WOT he can't chirp them through the gears. Expensive but I'd say very worth it.

275/35 BFG KDWs up front, 295/35 in the back (also KDWs, 18"). Decent traction for an 18", but not great. Cornering is nice though.

I have the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 in 245-50/R16 and a friend with them in 275-40/R17 and we both love them. Great traction dry and wet, good treadwear, turn in could be a little better (for me, his are better, of course), but not bad by any means. If you drive them in the winter, they must warm up before you drive hard, but that is true with all summer tires. I am definately getting them again, he is on his 2nd set.

I have the 295/35ZR18 Kuhmo MX, decent tire for the price. Tire is very heavy and has turned rather hard, so traction is lacking. Although after nice burn out they do pretty well.

Just so everyone knows I went with the GS-D3's a little on the expensive side but what can you do I just hope ill be satisfied hehe. I might not get them installed this year tho but I will have them just in case. My old ES 100's have a little tread on them and might last me the summer if I treat them nicely

The yokohama advan neova had really good reviews on tirerack.

Has anyone run that tire on an fbody?

I see you're up North. Do not use the D3 in snow at all. The grooves get filled and it's like rotating on drums.

Yup, most tires we are talking about here are summer only tires. No-go-in-snow But then I'm not brave enough to drive my Z in snow no matter what tires I had.

I have the Nittos. So far they are pretty good. I rarely drive the SS but when I do the tires stick and it corners great now that I have put on the complete Hotchkis suspension set up. I got them when they first came out and they were cheaper then. Now I don't know how much they run for.

I love my 285/35 GSd3's on the rear of my car, but they are expensive and they wear faster than others, but if you want traction you need a softer compound so i'm not bitching about the wear. They were a big difference going from 275/35 Kumho Supra's
