Mother's PowerBall

I picked up a PowerBall today and used it on my wheels. It cleans em up nicely and all, but it doesnt seem to make them shine like I thought it would... I am using it with the Mothers aluminum polish.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I have one also. I am not impressed with it really. I use it with the Mothers Billet Polish. I guess I was expecting something better.

I like mine, just be careful around the valve stem with it. I had a flat three days after polishing my wheels because the valve stem was damaged....somehow. :bang:

I like mine. It took alot of the oxidation off the aluminum wheels on the truck. It beats doing it by hand.

I like it for cleaning/touching up the wheels...I agree it's much better than doing it by hand, but doesn't get the results of a high speed wheel.

Has anybody used it on chrome wheels yet? I actually don't mind polishing mine, except right where the spokes meet the inside of the diameter of the wheel. (I have ZR1's) I have also heard a couple times that a couple of the mothers aluminum polishes don't work that well- just what I heard...

Just did my chrome ZR1s with the Powerball and Mothers Chrome Polish Liquid. Looks great and its FAST!

Why polish chrome? Why not just wipe it off? I thought that was one of the benefits of it.

Exactly, get a microfiber cloth and cleaning solution of your choice, mine is windex in this case, wipe and go.

I hear that the Mother's Powerball works nicely. Aluminum wheels polish up really well with it.

I've found that the Powermetal polish is way better than the regular Mag and Aluminum polish. I have one of the regular Powerballs but I need to get one of the Mini-Powerballs because it doesn't like to clean the nooks and crannies of my Z06 wheels.

The way I've found to get best results is to make sure the Powerball is good and polished up and black and make sure you use enough polish. Just keep polishing and polishing with it and go over the wheel 2-3 times and THEN buff it out really good.

That is a benefit, but they dont just "wipe off" forever. Especially when you just bought the car and they are slightly pitted... After a good polishing to make them look like new, and then a coat of wax, they will be good to go for a while.

be careful not to press to hard because you can burn the wheel

It worked great for me as well. I spin it in place for about 10 seconds - seems to work very well.

You probably figured it should work the best with Mother's most expensive polish...but actually you'll get much better results with a liquid polish and that's probably why you weren't very impressed. Might want to give it a shot with like Mother's PowerMetal or something along those lines.

i tried it and used it on my old trucks wheels...it was nice for a touch up but it cant get those hard to get places like corners and stuff..i think they make a mini which im sure would be better for that...but imo takin your time and doin it right, by hand, gives the best results

He endorses mothers, it on the thing called television. Their products are great for the average joe. I would bet money he dosen't use mothers on his show cars. They shine way to brilliantly for that product. :eyes:

And what product would you say he uses for that killer shine, Windex?
