BFG's DR
 

I was looking at the BFG's G- Force T/A Drag Radials and there going for about $152.00. I just wanted to know what did everyone think about the tires. Do they perform good at the track.

I purchaced a set of 295-35's for my 02 TA and love them. The car they are on is in my sig. They hook good on the street or track without heating them up, but hook really good when you heat them up. Before I had the BFG's, I had some Michellin Pilot Sports and would break them loose at 35 and below easily. The BFG's however stuck great. On the track, I had to do a pretty serious burnout(2nd gear for around 7 seconds or so) to get them to hook off of a 3000 launch, but they worked awesome. I drive them daily on the street about 300 miles/week and have no problems. They aren't that noisy to me and ride as well as can be expected from a soft tire. The only downside I have noticed is that they Hydroplane like all get out!!!! If it is raining anything more than a mist, forget the speed limit, you will be way under it.

My overall vote is 2 thumbs up though. You just have to remeber that they are drag radials and not full slicks and they will spin some, but anyways,...thats my 2 cents.

That was the same thing i heard about have to do a long burnout to warm them up. My other question is should i put them on a 15x8 rim or would i hook better on the stock 17s. Would appreciate some advice before i spend money.

Which rim should i put the BFGs to perform at the track. the 17s or the 15x8 rims?

Let me just give you my .02 worth. I used to run the BFG's but in the 255x50x16 on 16x8 stock Z28 rims. They hook like crazy when heated properly. I only used them for the track though (to and from also). They can be a bit scary as stated on the street in anything but dry conditions. The reason I liked them was because of the extra sidewall over the 17's. I ran at the track with 15lbs and on the way home at 28lbs. I would mostly dead hook off the line even with the 3.73's. That being said I have a bit more power now and have switched to MT DR's in the 275x40x17.
WOW what a differance! Even with the smaller sidewall these things hook like they have claws in them!! They can be had for just a tad more then the BFG's. I know others that run them on the street too and have no real issues unless it rains of course. I also believe they will last a bit longer too. Hope this helps, if not sorry for the long post.

whenever i used to run the bfg's, the best 60 i could get was a 1.7X

275/40/17

MTs drag radials are the best for an auto.

They hook great and wear fast. Check my 60' in sig.
