Default 17's or 18's on lowered T/A?

Just wondering if i should go with 17"x9"/10.5-11" or same width set of 18"s on my T/A if I'm going to do suspension work which will end up lowering it at least an inch from stock. Gonna be for autoX, so I'm not just going to get lowering springs, need the whole package.

Most likely i'll get some decent racing tires on my stock 16"s for racing, but i'm worried about wheel-rub in the front if i have 18x9 in there for the street.

Sorry if someone else already asked a similar question 100x, i'm new at this.

Thanks

Nine Ball used to have 18x10 on all four and i dont believe he had rubbing issues, i would do 17x11 all the way around CCW classics if your gonna auto cross,

thanks

i was gonna get some street tires on bigger wheels for pimpin' around town, and put better tires on my stock 16s for autoX. That seemed like the cheapest way to do it.

I had some 18x10.5 ZO6's before my ZR1's, lowered on a prokit with 0 issues, no banging or anything. You should be good to go. Also there are a couple of people here who run 315's on the front with rubbing issues if they are lowered quite a bit. I'll see if I can find the thread.
