You tell me... 335's or 315's? So, I finally graduated college and now have a good steady job and im finally ready to put some good earned money into widening my rims to 11.5's out back. I have 2 questions First, What tire would be a better fit on the 11.5 inch wide rim? From what i have researched the 335's will be a tad on the big side :devil: , but will not have any serious bulge on the rims. I think that the 315 might be a bit on the "small" side for the rim. Secondly, I know there are a TON of people on this site with zr1's or tt2's with 315's on there car. What offset are you running? What size of tire do you have? AND most importantly Do you think that there is room for the 335's? I know once i get my rims widened i will need to have a "perfect offset" in which my 40mm offset should work out pretty damm good. I know i am going to have to get the lips rolled and do some bfh work, but i need some advise with people that have 315's or bigger on their cars. w/ 11.5 wide rims 335s should fit fine... many people run 315's on 10.5 w/o any issues... now u dont want to much of an offset or else your tires will be hangin out the side and it will look like shit... keep um tucked under as much as possible... u already have an adjustible panhard to center your rear so thats good.. and plan on doing the BFH mod and rolling the fender lip... and i wouldnt go any lower or expect major rubbing |

You'll be adding 2.5" to the inside of the wheel, so I'm guessing you're going to have to get very aquainted with the BFH. Nobody will widen them on the ouside lip. The 315 will be the easier of the two to fit inside the wheel well, a 335 is going to be more work. What is your current offset? |
Well those 335's would look pretty damn cool under there, but I think it's too much work for the extra 2 centimeters. I've got 315's under my Camaro and it looks killer. And I guess I was just part of the very small minority that did not have to do the "BFH" mod to get them to fit. Just lifted my car up by the pumpkin and they went right on with no rubbing. However, I find an issue with your setup seeing you are running a +40 offset. But then again, you do have a Trans Am and those seem to have a little bit bigger wheel well than us Camaro dudes. Those fender wells are going to need a lot of lovin' to get those 335's to fit though...Think about it, you are keeping your wheel right where it is, but just extending the inside. You really need to look under your car and measure what room you've got already. And then factor in how much more crap you'll be adding into the already little room you have. |

I agree 100%, thats why im fairly confident that my rims will work out nice. They are actually a 38mm offset,( which is basically flush with the t/a outter fender) and i will be adding 2.5 inches to the inner fender, which in not a problem, i actually got some carboard cut 2.5inches of a long strip and taped it on the wheel, then mounted and looked from under the car how it would fit.... and it did! -- but the tire takeups room too. Thats why i am asking this question. I think im going to go for it..... 335... :devil: |

If you can fit them, by all means get the 335. That is just sick. I'm gonna have a set of 315s out back on my car in the future but I'm trying to find a feasible route for fitting 335s out there. So if you can do it, go for it and post pics immediately. |
:werd: I had 335 Michelins for my '69, but didn't have the time/means/skills to put in the mini-tub myself and nobody around here I'd trust to do it. Those things were wide as hell too. |

yeah i know that the rear end does not stay in place, ther rear end does not "turn". The wheels and axles turn.... but really should not have that much side to side movement, becasue thats all that would be effecting the massive tire issues.... and its part of the problem, and hopefully can be still done. .....The rims are hp evo's... i did the powder coating on the rims myself. |

Never mind I found them. Nice rims but I hate those ricer sizes and wouldnt it be alot of work widening them with that offset? |
