Sumitomo HtrZ's????
 

I have these tires now for my 16 inch rims but when i go up to 17" rims im not sure what tires to get. so far the only thing ive been with are the sumitomos so i have nothing to compare them with. on tire rack they are very cheap. only $88 per tire. i am on budget so im not sure if i should go with better tires or not. i go to the track maybe once or twice a year. any advice?

i have them on my 18s and i dont really like them...the traction in rain is horrible and just normal street driving isnt any thing to brag about either

Well the HTRZ's are really the only cheap tire you'll find for 17" wheels for these cars. The only other tires that I have run and would spend money on are GS-D3's and BF KD's but these are pricy compared to the Sumitomo's. Are you an A4? If so then I would buy the HTRZ's for DD, and slap on radials on your 16" wheels and mount them on for the few times you head to the track. If you don't like that idea money will be well spent on D3's or BF KDW's both are the ultimate for DD/seldom track use.

thats actually a pretty good idea. i am an a4 and the tires dont seem to bother me in the rain or snow. ill prob try to find a cheap set of slicks for the summer when i head to the track.

Plus you can sell the 2 stock 16" wheels that your not gona use in the "for sale" section here, and not even feel the hit ($$$) for the radials/slicks.
