Has anyone had this happen to their BFG KDW's. I just has 3 of them replaced because the sidewall was splitting.

No sir. 18k and 4+ years of service in desert heat.

I'm not being sarcastic.....it almost looks like someone sliced the tires???........

Hmmm....I just ordered a set of KDW's for my car.........

It was on the inside and outside of the tire wall. The first one that was replaced was in January of this year and was only a year old and the other two just a couple of days ago. They were all bought at the same time. I only got one good one in the whole batch....

I have been running ,ine for a year and not had any problems . The kdw is one of the best tires I have run .

i don't have kdw's, but i have g-force sports and haven't seen anything like this yet bout 6k miles on them

I have all three BFG's KD, KDW and KDWS, no issues with any of them.

I do agree that they look cut . . . .

Lots of things can cause that. Have your alignment/chamber checked. Also maintain proper air pressure. There should be a plaquard on the inside drivers door jam of fule tank door. Otherwise 35 psi should do the trick. Overinflation and underinflation can destroy tires. Excessive heat heat is another factor. Only other thing could be defective tires but BFGs are usually a pretty good set of rubber.

I have a set of KDs on the back of my car and they are split. I took them back and they wouldn't replace them. I only had a few hundred miles on them at the time. Mine are in almost the same exact area too. I had 2 sets of KDWs and never had a problem.

blkbird Oct 27, 2006 05:05 PM

I took them back to Discount Tire (where I got them), they replaced them no questions asked. I guess its just my bad luck with these kinda things.

Also, you can tell where the gash was going to continue to split but hadnt yet. If someone was goin to slash a tire, they would go all the way, unless they are idiots......

I always use the KDW's since they came out and I never had a prob with them..
