Autocrossers (in Street Prepared class and up) and open trackers (road course) do it all the time, usually with VERY sticky R compound tires or slicks. It's all about the left-right and turn in/exit/transitions. Yes, most on here would NEVER understand it, as they are ONLY concerned with straight line speed and prove it by driving around on the streets with skinnies and no front swaybar. But yes, it would be just as radical to drive around full time on the street with sticky 315s up front. Maybe some just think it looks wicked in an anti-skinny sort of way, even with a street tire on the 11s. To each his/her own I guess.

Some people think its stupid. But F-bodies are heavy vehicles. A 315 is not all that ridiculous. I would assume you WOULD need a huge tire up front to be able to take corners at extremely high speeds and prevent a 3500+ lb car from understeering.
