powercoating worth it

like title says. . i currently running black zo6's and want the stockers for some drag radials. i have my stockers and am wanting to either paint or power coat them black. could i get simmilar or better results than powercoating with good prep work?
there's a place in town that will do each for 75.00

if you are just going to be using the wheels for drag wheels and are not going to be running them all the time, i would just paint them. much, much cheaper. if you do some good prep work and take you time applying the paint and clear they will look very nice. wont last as long as powdercoat but if you dont use them all that often they will last quite a while.

i plan on using them once every one month or so and maybe a few times a month in the summer.

i think i am just going to pain them, i am not going to use them everyday. i'll probly just bolt them some weekends in the weather is nice and at the track which i try and go at least once every 2-3 months

Regular paint might not hold up to the high temps of the front wheels, not to mention brake dust will eat it...I'd reconsider and powdercoat IMO

i used duplicolor wheel coating paint and clear coat on my wheels and after a year they looked every bit as good as the day i painted them, and i used them on a daily driver. never had any problems as the wheels themselves do not get overly hot and the brake dust was never an issue. IMO he will be fine painting his wheels. $20 to paint vs. $300-$400 to powdercoat, especially with stock wheels powdercoating is not really worth it in my opinion.

its just for my DRs so i wouldn't mind if i have to touch them up some.
