im betting it will be a G-force type tire just which one.. keep in mind guys i live in Waco Texas most of the year its hot as hell but its DD i have driven in the rain with my converter and 1/32 of tread on the G-force i got now I guess im just crazy? i really watch it though so it doesnt get away from my ***

I've heard great things about the KDWs. If that's what you got on your car and you liked them, then that's what I would get. At discounttiredirect.com you can get them for $171 each with free shipping. Also if you contact Troy@DTD or Luke@DTD (that's their screennames on ls1tech) I think they have a set ls1tech discount. I can't remember if it was 5% or 10% they gave me but they told me it was an ongoing discount if you mentioned you were from ls1tech. Just pm them.

If you didn't like the KDWs you could also go with the nitto NT 555 performance tires.

FWIW we replaced those Sumitomo's with some Avon Tech M500's. My friend is very happy with them. Both in handling, wet and dry, and treadwear. In Michigan, having wet handling is an important part of choosing a tire. Maybe this is not so important to you in Texas, especially after reading your previous post....lol

I have heard good things about the G-Force Sport, but personally have not tried them.

they never had enough tread for me to tell if they where good lol i got the car and they where at the bars.. whats th diff between the KDWS and the KDW?

I have the Falken Ziex 512s, if those are the tires you are referring to. They are good tires, for a budget performance tire. I haven't had any problems with them holding ono when I'm taking a curve at 90-100mph on the highway. They have good treadwear and a nice tread pattern. The only thing that bugs me a little is that they bulge out a little bit. The sidewalls are a little rounded, but that's okay. It doesn't seem to effect drivability at all.

KDW= Killer, Dry, Wet
KDWS = Killer, Dry, Wet, Snow

The KDW model is a little more performance oriented, from what I can see.

dude, check out the Avon tires on tirerack.com. I have them and ABSOLUTELY love them! they are $122 each, Avon has been around for a LONG time making motorcycle tires. They are so quiet on the road, have very good sidewalls for cornering and they hook very well at the track (I've found out these tires work well with heat). The local track here HATES street tires and I've never got anything below a 2.0X 60ft. The first time I did a little burnout (because I was getting pissed at the track) and launched I pulled a 1.97 60ft. Quietest tires I've ever had on the highway. I've had them for 8,000+miles on my daily driven car and have at least 3/4 treat left. They handle very well in snow and rain. These are accually the first tires I've owned that don't pull hard when u hit a large puddle with the passenger tire. I just recently experienced them in snow/frozen rain/ice and even tho is was slick and I'm making 400+wrhp w/ TSC it was quite easy driving home from work.

ill look into it.. do they need feathering or alittle burnout to get good hook?? someone on here I talked to has a friend with a 4.5k stall and 4.10's and feathers into it and cuts 1.6-1.7's i thought that was damn good (FALKEN-512's BTW $88 a tire) my point behind all this **** im sure throwing more money at tires helps but u can get a good bang for a buck tire

well with the falkens they are a very soft rubber, they won't last too long. The thing I love about these tires is I do a lil burnout (no feather or "clean off tires") and I'm still learning these tires because with that 1.97 I bogged. I went back around and did it again...bogged. they hook and I was very surprised because the tread doesn't seem to be disapearing like DRs or a softer rubber like the faulkens.

u and ur friend are lucky, autos are very consistant with 60fts, and hookin up good. at least mine is more fun to drive

Boggin **** what did u get the rpm's up to before launching.. tread wear on the falkens is 360 to btw but iv never felt a falken tire either

arnt those more all seasons (i know the 512's are) but from iv seen the 512's are better for dry... also what spacer do i have to go with to even my tires out with the fenders running 275's is it a 1 or 1.25?

The 452s arent all season, there ultrahigh performance. I doubt the 512s are better dry as the 452s are rated AA and the 512a are A.
IDK about the spacer...........

ya i see on there site it is, on a few they list it as the same or less then the 512's

anyways they just lowered the price no the 512's to $72 a tire and are letting alot of tires down guess its some crazy christmas sale? guess ill keep looking try and find a better price on 452s

i use the kdw2's on my Marauder in the summer, and think they are a great tire. on the Firehawk, I'll let you guess what kind of rubber it wears.
