Will BMW Rims FIT Our Cars?

How much of a pain in the neck would it be to fit some BMW rims on our cars? It has the same bolt pattern? Or am I wrong. Has anyone here ever tried it? Lets hear what you guys have?

Arachnotron 03-27-2007 06:17 PM

BMW wheels are 5 x 120 mm and Fbody wheels are 5 x 120.65 mm.

xcead 03-27-2007 06:37 PM

Does that mean that they will fit? or be off a little bit but may still work. Can you set them on a mill an open up the outer bolt holes up to a max of .65 per 5.

What do you think. Because I know the corvette rims fit the BMW no problems.....

01FormulaTA 03-27-2007 08:07 PM

yah they will, but 6-lug Cadillac wheels fit some nissans too but why would you do it....?

SSilverSSurfer 03-27-2007 08:15 PM

why would you want BMW wheels on your? and no they wont fit

98Ws698 03-27-2007 08:30 PM

Heres the thing, They make rims that fit BMW's, that are really nice looking, not neccesarily from a BMW. This is for informational purposes while I shop for rims, to know which possibilities will work...

SSNISTR 03-27-2007 08:44 PM

They fit, but to be safe need a spacer.....my buddy had 19" BMW wheels on his SS before he sold it.

Kev98Ta 03-27-2007 08:50 PM

Bottomline-> They WILL bolt on your car, but they will NOT bolt on correctly. You can put any wheels you want on your car, thats your right. However, its not recommended. There's plenty of great looking wheels out there to choose from that have the CORRECT bolt pattern.

Back to square one again........ Anyone have a Picture or diagram of the difference?

xcead 03-27-2007 09:56 PM

For example, a drawing, Drawing 1. This is a T/A lug pattern. Drawing 2. This is a BMW pattern. Drawing 3. DRAWING 1 ON DRAWING 2. Showing the difference.

its not a good idea.... this is coming from someone who HAD bmw rims on his car. theres a reason it's past tense

pHEnomIC 03-27-2007 11:19 PM

Any pics of what you are trying to do?

Not sure how it works the other way around, but I have Chevy rims on my BMW right now and have had no problem for the past 8 months either as far as bolt pattern goes. But the offset is definately different from Chevy to BMW, so I would look for Chevy rims if at all possible.

i am looking at buying a set of HP evo's which have the slightly incorrect bolt pattern as well but i do see a few people running them... does anyone have a good reason why i should NOT run these wheels?

LS1W66 03-28-2007 06:39 PM

I have 5x120 bolt pattern wheels and have No Problems with them.
Each stud will be .325mm off, Mine came with a set of hub centering rings also
