Will BFG kd's do the trick?
 

Can anyone please explain to me:

Basically:
I want to be able to actually get traction in first gear.
Will KD's do this for me? It is a cammed, full bolton, full suspension ls1.
In addition, can i actually launch above idle, and will i actually stay in my lane?

275/40/17 btw.

At this point, my bald pirellis dont hook in 1st or 2nd and my rearend is all over the place even when alunch at idle.

Nitto drag radials if you drive the car often.

I have BFG KDW2s not the KDs, and have no traction on the street or track. My car just has a few boltons btw.

As much as you might not like to hear it Jon, for what you want.... you need a drag radial.

I have a Magnaflow and lid with 245/50/R16 BFG KDW's. Won't hook for shit on the street, they'll cut a 2.0 60' on a well prepped track.

Me personally i would get DRs on a different set of wheels for the strip and the BF goodrich KDs for street tires. Just my .02

Once you have that much power you really need a drag radial, and even then, on the street they arent set up to really launch well, but you wont spin through the gear nearly as much. You will love dr's on the track tho. Its night and day over a street tire.
The kd is a good tire tho and you wont regret it, it just wont eliminate wheelspin

The KD's have much better traction than the KDW's at least when it's warm. I'd say get the KD's and try them out and buy a set of wheels for the track.

KD's a great tire, but nope. I spin through most of 2nd too when shifting hard, and I have 3.42's again.

the KD's are a GREAT street legal dry weather HANDLING tire, this means that they are not a drag radial and will not hook like one. If you want a tire that hooks then you need a drag radial, if you need something that handles incredibly well and street legal then go with a KD. If you want something that tries to compromise and does both equally well you will end up with a tire that does both equally as crappy....lol
