the SS wheels look the same and will have a GM stamp so that aint gonna tell you if they are zr1 wheels.

I think E-WAY is asking how to figure out how to tell the difference between SS/ZR1 wheels from replicas. I dont think he wants to know if they are "actual" Zr1 wheels.

anyways. Just try to find a GM stamp. Or a stamp that looks like a "JW" in cursive. I forget what it actually says. But it looks like a JW. I used to have a set of those. I heard that GM used to use that stamp for a couple yrs on these wheels.

The JW stamp your talking about is the japanese wheel standard. I know it sounds wierd but its on domestics and imports alike. It's basically saying they comform to standards but I don't think it means it's genuine

I might as well piggy back on this thread instead of making a new one.

What are the differences between the GM wheels and the replicas out there. As far as quality, materials used, and building process??

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong for my knowledge. The zr1 wheels have magnesium in them so there a few pounds lighter than most aftermarkets which are usually just aluminum.

replica's have more "Jagged" edges, where as the GM one are very rounded off on the spokes. if that makes any sense lol

Im pretty sure they're genuine. There are alot of import cars that also have that stamp on their factory wheels.

by the way. I finally know what JW means. I've known about JW for yrs but never knew what it meant.. Thanks
