Default Bumpstop question

I see it is quite common to remove the bumpstops to fit larger tires but wanted to know if anyone has had any issues since doing it? Do you regret it? How will this effect your car?

I cut the entire inside of my fender out. No issues...the bumpstops looked like they had never been used. No difference with them off, even on street wheels.

I beat the inner fenderwell for tire clearance (295's), and trimmed the bumpstops. I was nervous to take them completely off in the event that I did ever go to full jounce in the rear. I didn't want to have the axle overtravel and crush a brake line or something.

It all depend on your rear tires' offset. I'm running 18x10.5" w/ 53 mm offset wrap w/ 295/35 BFG series. I don't have to roll the fenders, BFH mod or cut the bump stops.

I took my bumpstops off and the rear kept slamming going over bumps at high speeds. Put them back on and no more problems!

Yeah, they are 325/50/15's on 15 x 10 bogarts with a 7.5" backspace. Time to cut!

I completely cut out one of the bumpstops and got to lazy to cut the other out. I haven't heard it bottom out or anything though and we have some pretty crappy roads in Houston.

I've seen this size tire on two different camaros. One had a mini-tub kit, the other didn't even have to remove his bump stops (his did stick out a little). It all depends on your offset on your wheels.
