ZR1's on Firebird? Does anyone have any pictures of some 17" ZR1 rims (preferaby silver) on a Firebird? I have been looking at rims for my car. Also, does anyone have any experience with the ZR1 rims that are all over eBay? The prices seem very low, I'm wondering about the quality. |

I like the TTM's better though. Hope those help. BTW the stock WS6 center caps fit the ZR1's:devil: |

Thanks guys, they look pretty good, I think I am still a little partial to the LT1 style WS6 rims, but those can't be had as cheap as ZR1s of course. |
|
Alex, have you considered LT1 Firehawk rims? Personally, I'm not partial to the ZR1s. |
Hey Dave, what's up? :wavey: Is there anyone that sells aftermarket Firehawk wheels? To be honest, I don't know If I am completely sold on the ZR1 look myself, but the price is very attractive. I think my favorite look is still the 17" silver WS6 rims. There's a guy in my apartment building (I just moved to Easthampton) with a black '96 WS6 TA with those wheels and they look perfect on that car. But going that route would be a lot more expensive. Plus I want to get Nittos if I go to 17's so it won't be cheap. What's new with you? Did you ever find another Firebird? |
I don't see why people put ZR1 rims on birds, I don't think they look good at all. Just my .02 though. No flame intended at all. The rims are so cheap because there is so many places making them. I have seen several sets of the replica wheels and they do look nice. |
^^^^they look better than stock tho! ;) |
Hey Alex, Long time no talk, man. I never did get another Bird. I was about to buy one this month, a '94 Formula six-speed, but the owner decided to keep the car until spring. The early Firehawk wheels, like I have on my car, were made by ROH. I don't know the model number of the wheel, but they look just like the ones in this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/17-RO...spagenameZWDVW Only difference is that mine have gunmetal spokes. I don't think the ZR1s are the way to go, man. I think even the stock wheels look better. It's all subjective, of course. |

I found a set of WS6 rims on eBay for $750 + shipping, but they are polished and I would prefer silver. If I'm going to spend that much money it really has to be exactly what I want. Plus I looked up some 275/40/17 Nitto NT555's and that would run about $600. Maybe I should just live with the stock 16's. I do love the style, they just need to be one inch larger. If you're still looking for a Firebird there is a guy around here who had a '96 Formula for sale, I'm not sure if he still has it. The only thing is it's an auto and I know you want a 6 speed. Had 111,000 miles, black, clean, with a WS6 hood, and he was looking for $6,500. I could PM you his contact info if you want. |
Alex, I understand what you mean about hijacking my look. I actually thought of that earlier. I wouldn't mind, but I know you probably want your car to be different than the other green LT1 in the area. Is that black car the one for sale in Ludlow? If it is, it is definitely a nice car, but out of my price range. The '94 I was going to move on was only $3500. Higher miles, but that doesn't bother me. |
My car wears many dancing shoes. It all depends on the dance I am going to. http://usera.imagecave.com/Rampant/n...705_resize.JPG http://usera.imagecave.com/Rampant/r...-copy-copy.jpg http://usera.imagecave.com/Rampant/r....JJ2M19061.jpg http://usera.imagecave.com/Rampant/7...K.JJ2M9847.jpg The original WS6 rims will do road coarse duty next year. TTM's for the win though! |
Yeah, I believe he is in Ludlow, I saw the guy at the Ludlow cruise night, as well as at marks in Connecticut. Here's a car for ya to drool over, it will be out of your range too but what a sweet car, I would love to have this one: '98 Formula |

Prior to Katrina I had a dark green 94 Formula with silver Zr1's 17 x 9 in front and 17 x 11 in back. If you have any questions I will be happy to help any way I can. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/235/4...5f6da0.jpg?v=0 |
