C6 18's or 19's?

Ok,

I was going to get Bogart d10's and drop the car, but I have changed my mind due to I cruise my car more so than go to the drag strip and if I bend a bogart, I wiould be pretty pissed.

So I'm going to go with Chrome c6's. My question is should I go with 18's or 19's (I'm leading towards 18's at the moment)? I want something that is going to look awesome. I do plan on dropping the car with Eibach prokit springs.

Also, what tires should I go with? I plan on running 10.5's in back and 9.5's in front. I like the deal SUX2BU got with his tires for $165.00 a piece for 19's, but I can't seem to find a decent set of tires for 18's in the same price range. I don't see myself spending $1,000.00 for some BFG tires.

Any help or opinions would be great.

Thanks

I would recommend 18s all the way around...you could rotate front to back. Can't do that with 19s...plus if you go with a 275mm rear or wider on the C6 rim you will be rubbing and you will have to buy adapters to give you the clearance

Thanks for the input, but if I run 10.5's in the back and 9.5's in the front, I don't think that I'll want to rotate them.

Also, why would I need adapters if I get the right off-set to begin with?

I'm running 18*9.5" C6 with p285/35/18 on all fours. No rubbing. No problems:)

if you're at all worried about cost of tires and/or the weight of the wheels, niether 18's or 19's are going to be the best option. 17's would be the largest size i'd go for that particular application.

but if it's a choice between only those two sizes, i'd go with the 18's.

as for the tires, if you're just looking for a good street tire that won't break the bank, check out the Cooper Zeon 2XS tires....i've got a set of them on my car now, and they've been great tires for me....they stick like glue when carving corners, and they have really good wet traction until they start getting pretty low (like mine are now, gonna have to replace them soon).....and they cost a lot less than some BFG's or GY's.

buying huge wheels may be :pimp: , but a lot of people shit themselves when they see how much the tires cost for them. on top of that, a lot of the wider tires for the larger sized rims are either hard to find, or are EXTREMELY expensive.

19" tires are much more expensive.

That RED T/A looks good. I think if I get them, I will go with the 18's.

I just priced out tires, and it would be over $1,000 for tires alone, thats more than the wheels. I don't know if I can front that much money every few years for rubber. I may just end up doing the heads/cam/suspension and roll on my stock wheels with drag radials for that price.

Thanks for everyones opinions.

Man those wheels are awesome, but I think I am going to get a 40 profile tire instead of 35 all around. Oh yeah, I would definatley go with 18's, 19's are too big IMO.

I vote for the Bogarts - but of course I'm a bit biased. ;)

I got the wheels for 899 shipped and the tires for 904 shipped. So it was pretty close for me. I know the prices for the C6s have gone down though. So the difference in price will be greater. I'm running BFG KDW2s, not sure what kind of tire you were lookin at.
Thanks for the compliment.

Thank you too. 40 series would probably fill up the wheel well nice, but I didnt reallly want to change the overall diameter of the setup. The front are 25.6" and the rear is 26.1. Stock is 25.6".

18's all the way.

OSUBraden Oct 26, 2007 04:45 PM

18's definitely, as 19's look far too large and cost far too much. If you do 18's and give her a little drop, it'll look perfect.

kapparosko Oct 27, 2007 12:22 AM

looks sweet, think im going to go for 18's too. does anyone know where i can find them cheap? chrome or black?

michaelg589 Oct 27, 2007 12:28 AM

19s look good too though. But I think 18s are the largest that should be on an f-body.
