Which 335's do you have? Just wondering which 335mm tires you guys are running for those of you that have them? Brand, price? Also, how do you like them and would you recommend them to someone else? I'm not sure if they make a 17 335mm DR but if so let me know what you have and what you think. I wouldn't necessarily be looking for a DR as I can use ET streets when I need that kind of sticky but I'm just curious. I have some new wheels coming in for the white TA and 315's aren't going to cut it! :) Thanks guys! |
michelins are $450 each. a huge price just going from a 315. but either one is becoming hard to find in a decent tire. only 335 dr i know of in a 17 is hoosier. |
335 hoosiers would be freaking SICK!! Reza if I were you I'd look into the MT 315s, they have a more street/rain friendly tread pattern and run wider. Then you don't have to switch tires out and they'll hook good on the street. If you're not gonna start DD'ing that car I'd go with those man |
Damn, 335's! |
Ryan, I'll probably still drive the car quite a bit, just not in bad weather (rain, snow/ice) so a DR would be cool so its either way. You don't have links to either a Hoosier or a the MT's do you? I figure with the new wheels and 335's, they should still weigh about the same as the old Boyd's did with 315's give or take a pound or 2. I expect to be spending a decent chunk on tires, I was in over $1000 on the last set so hopefully I won't tip the $1200 mark, that would suck! Does BFG make a 335? I've had really good luck with those. Also, biggest I've gone is 315, are the 335 measurements 335/35/17 or does the sidewall % drop to 30? EDIT: Just found Michelin Pilot 335/35/17's for $408/ea., and to match the front 275/40/17's are $248/ea. Are those prices decent? I'll shoot a message over to TomZWheels and DTD when the time gets closer to purchase, I just want a ballpark. Should I bump it to a 285 front tire since the fronts are 17x10s? |
The hoosiers aren't very rain friendly, well the MTs aren't really either, but the MT's would definitely do better if you were caught in the rain. The hoosiers are lighter though (by about 7 or 8 lbs per tire), and a softer compound with a lil more sidewall flex. The MTs are heavier, stiffer sidewall, more street/rain friendly pattern to them and hook great too. They both come in 315s, hoosiers running a little wider than the MT, and the hoosiers do come in a 335, but you'd have a fun time trying to get them to fit, they're pretty freakin wide. Yea, I like the new MT style, and if I get some more BFG KD's the tread pattern is a pretty dang close match. Where can I get the new MT's? I wish they came in a 335!! Fitting 335's will suck, lots of hammering, fender lips are flat though so I guess we'll just have to get it on the lift and hammer the hell out of them then recoat. I'd really like 335's though, does anybody have any experience with the Pilots? |
