Is mixing tire profiles a bad idea?
I currently have 285/40 R17 Nitto's on all four corners and I'd really like to get a set of drag radials, but the problem is I don't want to hammer on my car to get 315's to fit (I'm lowered) and 275's on the back with 285's on the front is out of the question. I saw that Micky Thompson makes a 295/45 R17 drag radial that I think would fit the bill perfectly but I'm wondering if the difference in profile height (40 on the front and 45 in the rear) would mess me up where traction control would sense that two wheels are spinning faster then the other two and engage all the time. I ran into this problem in an old grandprix that I had but I was running a more drastic difference in tire profile, 50 on the front and 60 in the rear.
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

You might have some issues.
285-40-17 = 25.97"
295-45-17 = 27.45"
I don't know what the threshold is for our TCS and ABS and different diameter tires. But I wouldn't push it that far.

Well the profile DOES matter . . since that is waht dictates the sidewall height which in turn dictates the overall diameter of the tire, in combination of the wheel . . .
Running dramatically different OD's will get the ABS computer upset, and go into failure mode, thus will not work during a panic situation.
A 275/40ZR7 and a 315/35ZR17 have nearly identical OD's.
