Proper torque specs for zr1's please?
 

wondering what the proper torgue specs are for my AFS ZR1 wheels?

lol i just lock them down till its tight and recheck them after a few hours of driving and they are golden...... its worked for about 15 years so far......

thats what ive been doing but someone told me too tight will warp the wheels and so i figured id ask

well its one of those things where you just kinda gotta know how tight it too tight when using leverage...... obviously dont put a 3 foot bar on and have 2 people prying down or yeah you migth fuck something up...... but if you have a torque wrench then try 100ft lbs like dude said

Will not warp the wheels but could certainly stretch the studs(which will weaken them) or warp the brake rotors. Lug nut torque has nothing to do with the wheels but depends only on the stud size(think of the stud just like you would any other bolt.) Tell us what stud size you are running and that will determine the torque. If they are stock studs on a late model f-body then they are 12mm, proper torque for a 12mm stud is 70-80 ft lbs. Because the stud is steel and the wheel is aluminum they expand at different rates when hot and will loose some torque, important to retorque aluminum wheels every 25-50 miles until they amintain the proper torque setting.
