Default Got new rear tires now rear feels funny

Got a set of new yoko S.drives on the rear and car felt weird. I did the "warm up the tires" ala nascar swerve left and right and it seriously feels like the rear is floating almost like if the tires were broke loose when spinning. Like it sways or something. I hate how it feels, checked the air and it was of course max pressure let it out to about 35 but havent taken it back out because its hot and late. Any ideas? Just put reloc brackets and new shocks on and it felt awesome with the bald tires, now with nice new tires its ****.

Could just be the tires. I know last year when I went from Cooper Zeon 2XS's to Falken ZE 512's, they felt way different. I did the same "nascar swerve" as you mentioned, and the rear end just felt way more sloppy, like it was later to react. Maybe the sidewalls weren't as stiff as the other tires. They were still 18s, but they felt really sloppy.

Keep in mind, in your own words, you went from bald tires to brand new tires. In other words, you went from tires with NO tread to flex, to tires with 10/32" of rubber that WILL flex......

he would have had alot more problems out swirving if is tires werent torqued right...its just the feel of new tires, also as you said you had them maxed out on inflation...you were riding on balloons...

took it out a little while ago to test it after letting air out last night. 45 up front and 35 in the rear and it feels ALOT better, i can tell now that its the tread difference not a real sway of any kind. max pressure was a freaking ballon ride. thanks for the advice fellas.

Could have partially been due to still have the release agent on them from the molds when they were made. But most likely it was tread squirm.
Did you say you are running 45 psi in the front? :O

ya sounds like you had way to much air in the front and the rear. any tire will do that when you max the pressure out and them being new with lots of thread.

There's a sticker on the inside of your door that tells what psi to run. Just beause a tire has a max of 51 doesn't mean you should run it that high. You should be somewhere in the 30's.

30 - 35 PSI . . . the "MAX" pressure has nothing to do with how mush air pressure to run.
