widest tire u can fit on a 04 gto does anyone know what the widest tire u can fit on the rear of a 04 GTO with out rubbing and sticking out past the wheel well so far it looks stupid?

One of my friends has 18x9s with 295/30-18s out back. Looks sick! That's the widest I've ever seen on the back of any GTO.
It rubs when he hits bumps because the suspension is so soft in the rear. With air bags or stiffer springs it wouldn't touch at all. No inner fender mods at all.
