Let me predict exactly how this thread will go:

People that dont have CCWs will say: Nothing....they're plenty of knock offs that look like them. They are like a Rolex...a lot of cheaper watches look just as good if you don't care about the name and having "the best".

People that do have them will say: The quality is far better than the knock offs. They look amazing and fit like they should. They are a little expensive but worth it.

They are getting to be the new TTII's

J$Money Jun 15, 2008 12:10 PM

they do look good indeed, and no i dont have any but i was jus wondering whats all the chatter about'm. are the super lite weight or something. forged, billet, etc?

chupr0kabra Jun 15, 2008 12:22 PM

Single piece forged. CNC machined. Light weight. High quality.

If you have ever seen a set in person you will understand.^^^^Like he said lightweight and high quality.

These wheels are similar to watching a Top Fuel Dragster go down the track. Talking about them do not do them justice, you just have to see it for yourself.

ezekielta Jun 15, 2008 02:42 PM

They are really a great quality wheel for the money. In the end depending on your budget there are great wheels ou there for everyone, you just need to look. As for the CCWs becoming the next TTIIs, I don't see that.

_JB_ Jun 15, 2008 02:46 PM

Yep, excellent quality and lightweight. Only problem is I'd be afraid to leave my car for 5 minutes lol. Way to expensive for my summer DD.

:lol:

I like how people constantly bag on the TT2's. Not picking on you in particular, just a little rant. With a wheel design that's been around longer than I've been alive (40+ years,) it's a little difficult for it not to get 'stale.' There's no denying that they still look good to this day, hence the reason they're still popular.

rofl at the ccw ?. what next, why are fikse fm5's amazing?

I won't argue that the TT2 is timeless and they look great on both Camaros and Trans Ams. My only complaint with them is that it seems like everyone either has or had a set. There's nothing wrong with them. They fit great, they look great, and that's why they're so popular. Personally, I wanted something more unique, which is why I went with DPEs.

I've joked with people before that there is a timeline for wheels on F-bodies:

Camaro: Stock -> ZR1 -> Z06 -> TT2 -> CCW/Fikse/Iforged/etc.

Trans Am: Stock -> Z06 -> TT2 -> CCW/Fikse/Iforged/etc.

Seems like most people I talk to have gone one of those two routes.

no doubt in my mind they do look good, damn good indeed. i just can't seem to see whats all the commotion about them. well then again i haven't seen a set in person either so i cant say too much.

Y2K Pewter SS Jun 15, 2008 05:57 PM

Exact same comment I get from someone that has seen pictures of my car, then seen it in person:

"The pictures don't do your car justice, those wheels make your car look incredible"

something along those lines.

You need to see a set in person, not pictures to fully appreciate what they are.

Revelation Z28 Jun 15, 2008 05:59 PM

they are the LSx of rims god made them on the 10th day. :lol:

seriously, they are the only rims i would put on my car next, or my future SS. sp500's.

J$Money Jun 15, 2008 06:14 PM

hmm, i'm thinking of getting some for my s10 now

AbsolutHank Jun 15, 2008 07:09 PM

I've had two sets of CCWs on my C5 Vette over the years, and their quality is amazing. They are also strong and lightweight which helps performance, especially if you already have a set of aftermarket wheels. As with most things in life, you get what you pay for..and they are no exception. With that said, there are plenty of other nice wheels that will perform the same tasks for a lot less money. Also, the newest F-bodies are 6 years old now, so you have to start to think about dumping 4K on wheels/tires on a vehicle that old.

If you are willing to spend that kind of money, you owe it to yourself to look at some of the other high end brands too to get an idea what you really want. iForged, Boze, Fikse, DPE, HRE are all great brands with awesome reputations. As nice as CCWs are, they are still the "entry level" wheel in the expensive wheel categories...keep that in mind too.
