I have gorilla locking lug nuts on my car and I can't find my key. The last place I saw it was when i got my new tires mounted 6 months ago. Well I don't have my key number and gorilla's key replacement phone number and email are disconnected. wtf now

take it to a wheel shop they can get it off for you. not sure how much it will cost. had a friend of mine do it while he worked at goodyear.

Grab a set of 1/2 drive 12-point sockets and find one that will start to fit over the lock but doesn't go all the way over it. Put an extension on the socket and give it a few good smacks with a hammer. It will wedge the socket on the lock allowing you to remove it with a ratchet.

PS - A few smacks with a hammer...not too many or you will have a new wheel lock socket combo for life. You just need enough holding force to get the lock off - not mate them for life.

Something like this would work. Or a pneumatic chisel :lol:

X2. also you might get a cheapo china socket, they will flex a little more then a US socket

they make a socket at auto zone that has teeth and it doesnt use the locking thing at all it grinds into the lug and then pulls it out...its like 20.00 bucks for 5 different sizes this happened to my buddy and thats what he did

The socket method works great. I've used it before. So the moral of the story is thieves are smarter than you are and can steal you wheels if they want, so don't run locks. ;)

they also sell sockets @ sears that do the same thing. 3 sizes, 6pt and 12 pt sides, 1/2 drive. I used it on my oem keyed lugs. Good luck.

socket idea failed because the largest size socket to fit in the machined whole in the wheel was not large enough to hammer onto the lug nut.

I did the same thing with my truck I just got a 22mm 12point socket and lightly hammered it on and racheted it off. you could also take a picture of your lug nut and send it to gorilla and they might be able to match it up? I know you can do that with mcpherson lugs.

Take it to good year. They will just put a socket just like they are saying and then they hit it with a impact gun. I just had to do that last week.

He is right though not all sockets will fit in there. You need a nice cheap thin wall one lol. Think craftsman. ;)

I have boyd smoothie II and 21mm fits super tight, and 22mm wont even go in the lug hole. I think I'm going to grind out a 20mm socket and leave like one or 2 teeth.

I SECOUND THIS IDEA!!!Works on everything else!!! why not lug nuts LOL!!Definatly!!! 12 point!!
Metric & standard,, Which ever fits better once pounded on!!You may even want and use a torch to lightly heat the socket once removed,,the lug should fall right out!!Cool with water and pound it on the next one !!

I guess nobody read the part about the socket thats big enough to hammer on to the lug not being able to fit in the hole on the wheel...

Take a picture of what it looks like and post it. Can you get a center punch on it and knock it around using it???

yea this thread just shows how there is no point in getting locks..if someone is set to steal your wheels..they are going to steal them

Locks are a deterrent. How long before someone notices that a thief is hammering at 20 lug nuts? Some probably have it down to a science and can probably do a wheel or two in a minute. I'm a very light sleeper and my trigger finger gets pretty itchy sometimes. :)
