Dirt Track Tires a couple years ago an older gentleman told me that if i really wanted to hook up for cheap i should get some used dirt track tires. has anyone heard of or tried this?
I used to run them before drag radials where made and they do work pretty well. Make sure you use a tube because they do leak down. They are really soft and so is the sidewall.
I used to run McCreary L60's on a stock LT1 w/stock rear and
a 150 shot.Best 60ft was 1.56. They hooked better on the street
than my nittos did.They were only $100 a piece.But they are a
bias ply so very rough when they were cold.

I used to buy semi used sets from a local perfomance shop (for like $30 a pair with about half tread) whom the owner raced dirt track. Def better than any street tire but not quite a drag developed tire.
