315's on Camaro?

I know it's been beat to death but I still haven't seen alot about the 17x11's and 315's on the rear of a Camaro. I know that there is less room in the wheel wells than the firebird but what all is needed for them to bolt on without problems? I am not lowered nor plan to be anytime soon. I personally dont wanna roll the fender either. I could beat the inner well with a BFH :judge:if that would be all that needed done. Anyone personally or know someone who has done this on a newer Camaro without much trouble? It's either these or make it easy on myself and get 4 17x9.5's. :DThanks for the advice.

PS- I know mine is similar to Spanky's post but mine is bone stock on the rear, no rolling or bump stops removed.

mARK HAD 11" X 17" zr-1 rEPLICas ON HIS sS. (damned caps lock)

He was running the SLP Bilstein Sup. The ONLY mod we ever did to his car wis the BFH mod and an adjustable panhard, never touched the bump stops nor the wheel well lip.

The only issue with the bump stops is you cannot install the wheels with the axle hanging.

Well if I'm installing them myself I would just have to jack up the rear by the axle then for clearance? If so I might be able to handle this mod by myself. lol

I have the ZR1 replica 17x11's(50mm offset) on my Camaro. I have the SLP level 1 suspension and all I did was cut-off the bumpstops completely. If you put the car on a frame lift with the bumpstops on, they might get caught on the inside of the rims.

Do you ever race at 75&80 ?
I could show you what a camaro looks like
with 335's outback

JasonG I have 17*11's in the rear with 315/35/17 nittos, I :judge: the inner walls of the finder and rolled the finder wells... My car is lowered with Hotchkis springs and I have no problems with any tire rubbing...

Just from experince you will need to roll your fenders.. :judge: not a hard job at all..

GreekZ - if you are asking me no I don't cause I don't know where that is. Only track near me is Kanawha Valley Dragway 1/8th mile. Soon they might be builidng a 1/4 mile in Flatwoods only an hour away. :)

Strini SS - thanks for the info. I'm thinking I might get the 17x11's and put a wide 285 on it(the new goodyear's), and hope I don't have to do anything more than beat the inner fender wells.

Of course ya never know... I might just jump on it and do the 315's. Or maybe just do headers next instead. Damn the choices.

I only had to beat the drivers side wheel well in a tiny bit towards the bottom. I didn't do anything to the bumpstops or roll the fenders. :drive:
