Mine were $50 from fbodyaudio but I think they were on sale from the $75 normal price right before he probably stopped making them.

Carbon fiber???
Hmmm, I'd be interested if the price isn't too insane.

I wouldnt do carbon fiber. I do like the look of it but I think it would be to much for tweeter pods. I would just make them from fiberglass. Much more cost effective

6LITEREATER, did your guy ever get around to making these tweeter pods? I would DEFINITELY be interested in some that match the stock "ebony" body panels in my 2000 WS6.

I am sick and tired of my legs, and my passengers' legs blocking my tweeters...

I'd be interested in them as well. I'm going to be replacing my factory radio and speakers this spring. This would be a great option for me. Otherwise I'll be mounting them in the A-pillars like others have done.

Subscribing....

I can vouch that the stock T/A door-pods are horrible for tweeter response. Also, mine rattle with the mid-range. I have sound-deadened the outer door skin, as well as the inner framework of the door. I have narrowed down the noise/vibration to the actual pod. HIGHLY annoying. I will attempt to repair it, perhaps with the spray-foam and shave off the excess...

My favorite driving position is with my left knee up, with my arm resting on it, and that completely blocks the tweeter. Even if my leg is down, and my left hand is on the wheel, I get blockage.

Really looking forward to some upper-door pods. It's totally-wasted space, and I'd love some clean fiberglass pods there. I've never done it myself, and I figure it's not worth me trying, if someone can make them, (and of course money.) Hell, I am just doing my part to stimulate the economy

edit: I wonder if I could create my own pods for real cheap, just using foam, and wrapping them in vinyl?

I'd pay good money to get it done right, however...

Last I heard they were almost finished but the cold kept him from laying them... I'll ask.

Actually it quite easy to do it that way, mine are the same but you need the correct tweeter to go in there (can't be too deep). There is a little pocket it fit's into.
Small hole saw of the correct size for your tweet and use low rpms.

What's a acceptable tweeter mounting depth, for mounting tweeters there?

I purchased a set of tweeter pods from Kevin years ago. They were $75 shipped. Looked factory and performed perfectly. Prior to that, I had them flushed mounted in the a-pillars like pictured above. Sounded decent there too.

The other locations pictured in the door panels look ghetto as all hell. Sorry guys.

I surface-mounted mine as shown in the pics (I would've flush-mounted them but there wasn't enough clearance between the a-pillar and the vent).

has anyone molded tweeters into the rear dash cover (the thing closest to the windshield)?

That seems to be a good option as long as that panel is removeable since it would be almost completely hidden.

otherwise i was looking at the Boston pro or Z series so i could mount them as coaxes. I dont really like any the tweeter locations that people use, they are either ugly, obvious, or bad for imaging.
