Noise filter?

Is there any type of noise filter I can put inline with my amps so that I dont hear the "whine" in my speakers? I have turned the gain almost all the way down on my Eclipse component amp but I still can hear the noise. It is driving me crazy! I have checked and double checked the grounding point and its clean. Any suggestions?:bang:

check online or go to your local audio store they should have a noise filter you can add to your sound sytem

Is it only when the car is on? Does is go up with rpm? What type of radio do you have?

yes it is only when it is on. I have a 1 ferod capacitor (stinger digital) and I have a Kenwood flipout dvd yada yada player. Eclipse component amp pushing infinity kapa perfect components.

Sounds like it. Check all your grounds....

*opps said he checked.....check the radio ground...*

I will have to double check the radio ground but I believe it has to do with the capacitor. I hooked up the amp straight today without my sub to listen and it does not whine. SO that being said I may have to find another grounding point. I did not have enough wire to try another ground. It is alt whine but it is caused by the capacitor amplifying it I guess. Thanks for the respsonses.

I rewired mine this weekend and had the same thing happen. I remembered that if you have your RCA jacks too close to the power or ground it will give you that whine. When you install a system run the power wires down one side and the signal wires down the other. Keep them as far away as possible. Hope this helps.
