CDT's dont sound good

Got component CDT's in the door and midbass... sub is a 10 kicker L7.... headunits a JVC touchscreen... speakers are on the stock monsoon amp... it just sounds shitty to me... should I just bypass the amp and run off the headunit?

Engine_HP Jan 13, 2009 12:44 AM

dont run direct from the head unit, if u did it will sound more crappy.

You need a better amp... the cdts need more power

I love mine and I have 100 RMS going to each of them. Sounds great and LOUD

good to hear, im hooking my CDT CL61CVs to a 100W RMS/channel amp, I can't wait to finish the install.

i have cdts in the door as well and they sound good, but i also have another amp to power my stuff

Yes, you need a separate amp, but it's mainly so you can bypass the stock crossovers.

I agree, run a better amp off of your head units RCA's, and use the CDT crossovers. I think the sound quality from the monsoon amp in my camaro (also a 2000, so it's the same as yours) is pretty piss poor, regardless of what speakers it's connected to.

although i just found out my front ds cdt isnt hooked up properly, and too much work to take the damn door off. lol.
