driver Side window doesn't work my driver side window will not go down. When you press the button, you hear a noise from under the dash, that my be normal though. The passenger side window works. What could be the problem? thanks. |
Sounds like the ever-popular oh-so-infamous burnt out window motor. Join the club! |
Or it could be frozen (New England weather). Mine was this morning. It went down a 1/4in and that was it. I had to get out to use the toll booth this morning. As the day went on, it warmed up and started working. I think I need to lube up the mechanism. Maybe you are experienceing the same thing. Otherwise, like OctaneZ28 said, the motor is burnt. --VIP1 |
thanks, i'll look into it, and it better be the cold weather and not the motor! :bomb: |
mines doing the same thing and that noise is coming from under the dash...you say it may be a burnt motor? mines only doing it intermittenly like every now and then... |

the passenger side will work, if the drivers side window module goes bad... Ryan. |
While you're at it, go ahead and replace both motors. It's easy to do. Buy your new window motor from AutoZone. They come with a lifetime replacement policy. |
Are those Autozone window motors faster and more powerful than stock? My windows are the slowest that I have ever used. A 2003 Hyundai Sonata LX that I rented (nice car actually) had better power windows. --VIP1 |
Yes, they are. They are actually Siemens motors, and work very well. |

How the hell do you change the motor? I got my door panel off, and i cant even SEE my window motor haha. |
TTT. 50 or 70. Which one is better? |
Check this out: http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech1.html There is an article about power windows in the "How To" section. Here is another good link: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...t=window+motor -VIP1 |
