Default sail panel speakers

are these the correct replacements everyone recommends? My only worry is on the website they say 6 inch, even though they are the only option.

Yes, those are the correct ones for Firebird applications. Just make sure you don't lose any of the speednuts and leave the first three screws somewhat loose until the final screw has started threading.

Worry? The original speakers are 6". GM says so and they measure 6". I don't know where the 6.5" label came from.

Original door and sail panel speakers are 6.75" speakers, not 6".

Oh give it a rest... replacement 6.5" speakers are the best fit and nobody in their right mind buys OEM replacements, so let it go. You're the only one who seems to care about a half inch.

I care about accuracy, that is my business. This is my last post on the subject. I suggest you do the same.

Mounting depth is more of an issue then the 6 vs 6.5 issue (which pretty much isn't one). replacing blown stock with new stock is just a waste of money, the quality of construction just isn't there.

also Whitebird is a MOD, not to mention the master of all things electrical in an F-body, so if I was you I wouldn't be telling him to do stuff.

also labeling something 6" doesn't mean much these http://www.soundstormlab.com/auto/cp64/ are labeled 6" but when you look at specifications they are listed as 6.5" either way they fit the hole with no modifications, There not for monsoon replacement but work well for non-monsoon f-bodies.

I put 6.5" CDT woofers in my sail panels.

If it makes someone sleep better knowing they have 6" in their sail panels, good on them, but don't be afraid to put in 6.5". They fit.
