Alarm won't stop going off... help!

This JUST started, and it's driving me (and I presume everyone else in my parking lot) crazy. I have a 99 SS with the factory alarm. Today when I set it, it honked as normal to arm, and then about 20 seconds later just went off for no reason. I disarmed, tried again, same thing. When I manually locked the doors and didn't arm the alarm, it went off anyway.

What the hell is going on? Any help or advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

I hope it's not those damned electrical gremlins.

mine did that a few days ago when we got some really heavy rains and i found a bulletin on it at work. it has to do with the rubber grommets between the doors and the cowl. evidently GM says that if they are not seated well enough, water can get in there and short out the door switch telling the BCM that the door isn't closed and someone is tryong to break in. i checked mine and it seemed fine. then i turned down the sensitivity knob on the on the shock in the right rear quarter panel and i haven't had a problem with it since then. maybe you could try that. good luck!
