The ScothLock connector mod is for the light sensor in the dash to disable automatic headlights. There isn't an equivalent pair of wires to use for disabling DRLs. You can remove the two pairs of blue wires (plain and with white tracer) from the DRL module connector and splice them together (i.e light blue to light blue with white and dark blue to dark blue with white) to bypass the DRL module and disable DRLs. But merely shorting them together with ScotchLocks without removing them from the connector won't give the desired results.
I mounted a switch in place of the ashtray to control the DRL's in my T/A wired similar to the method described above.
The other switch was for interior LEDs.
Excuse the filth in the photo. I bought the thing with 98k miles from a hole-in-the-wall car lot and hadn't detailed the interior at the time. I promise it looked much better later.
