Default Gauge wiring

Ok so I bought a couple new gauges for my project.

1. Air fuel ratio gauge
2. Tachometer and shift light
3. Voltage gauge
4. Coolant temp

So what I wanted to ask is can I mainly use the wiring going to my gauge cluster and just splice in.
Ie. For example
Air fuel ratio gauge I know has to have a connection to the O2 sensor so that's out of the question but does it really have to be grounded to the engine block and if so why?

Tachometer- can I just splice into the white wire for the tach in the cluster for my signal wire?

Voltage gauge-just any hot and ground or do I really need to use the voltage input going to the gauges?

Coolant temp- can I splice into the coolant temp signal wire going to the gauge?

If so that will be a big help for most of the install. Hope everyone has a great labor day weekend

I swear shbox had a link on his site about aftermarket gauges in LT1 cars. Um but real quick off the top of my head, you can use a common ground under the dash for all your gauges. Can also use a common power and ignition power, I'd use a fuse tap right there on the fuses in drivers side of the dash for what you need. I'm not 100% on the tach & temp, the tach signal may go through the PCM first then the gauge so you'd have to hook up to the appropriate spot on the distributor. And the temp sensor probably came with it's own sending unit, it may be close to the factory ohms, and then be able to use it, but I'm not 100% sure. I had all this info somewhere when I was doing my conversion but I also ran all new gauges and sending units.
