monsoon speaker impedance
Monsoon speaker impedance is 2 ohms according to what a stereo shop told me long go after I blew several of them and needed replacements.
4 ohms are standard for most car speakers.
Blew up a total of 4 Monsoon sail panel speakers in my 99 T/A. First time covered by GM warranty. Later they blew again and given how poorly they held up, I wasn't buying new Monsoon's. Slapped a pair of 4 ohms Kickers in the sail panels ~17 years ago - no more blown speaker issues in car. Sometimes sound is a little off with the mix of 4 ohms & 2 ohms speakers.
No idea on the amped & bi-amped configurations. I think two top door speakers in TA's are bi-amped but not really sure.

Speaker impedance has no impact on sound quality unless you use speakers which the amp isn't capable of handling. Mixing and matching 2-ohm and 4-ohm speakers won't affect sound quality either - especially in a Monsoon system where the speakers are driven off separate channels of the Monsoon amp. You cam always run higher impedance than standard (i.e. you can always put a 4-ohm speaker in place of a 2-ohm speaker) but you generally can't go the other way because an amp designed for 4-ohm speakers may fail if connected to 2-ohm speakers. Lower impedance increases current flow which can cause overheating and damage to the output section of an amp. On the other hand, amps love higher impedance because it reduces current flow and keeps everything cool and happy.
As VIP1 suggested, you should check the Monsoon FAQ sticky. Firebird and Camaro Monsoon systems use different speaker setups and the difference is significant. And, contrary to some common "knowledge", the speakers are not all (or even mostly) 2-ohm in Monsoon systems. The Camaro uses 2-ohm subwoofers in the sail panels which is where the rumor started but Firebirds use dual voice coil (DVC) 4-ohm subs in the same location.
