Nakamichi just some input on this company, my dad owns one of there home audio stereo recievers. it sounds really good. anyone had any experiences. mostly intrested in amps and hu's but would like to know about speakers too.

Sorry I can't help you with car audio, didn't even know they made it. They have always been rated (by numerous magazine's, companies, etc) extremely high for home audio. From my basic knowledge of home audio their one of the best retail manufacturers, but their price usually reflects that too!
The Nakimichi was/is an option in Lexus'. You have the option of the regular stereo or the Nakimichi system which puts out more power and sounds cleaner. The difference between a stock and Nakimichi system in a Lexus is night and day. They are equivalent to the Bose options in Maxima's and our Monsoon option (although they are much better quality). But, as far as their amps and speakers, not too sure.
Lexus went to Mark Levinson now. It sounds great. You ask how I know. Well I used to build Mark Levinson speakers for Lexus vehicle's 5 day's a week. They sound great. But keep in mind though we built JBL speaker's on the same line. But yes Nakamichi and Mark Levinson are two of the top home theater systems in the world. It's funny more people don't know about them but I guess the price reflects that two. Just a Mark Levinson 5 disc CD Changer is almost $2000 dollars.
Their Amps and HU are great, but expensive. A little plain looking. I can't remember them making speakers though. If you get an AMP or HU you won't be let down by the sound quality. The features are a bit light compared to todays stuff.

Nak is regarded as one of the high quality brand names when it comes to aftermarket headunits. Only a couple of companies (and I really mean 2 or 3) I can think of that I'd put in front of Nak...... but their prices are out of reach for any of us. Nak's headunits are plain and simple. Put the CD in and get outstanding sound out. You want to EQ it? Buy an outboard. And many people actually prefer the plain look of Nak's headunits. Many hate those flashy graphics us Pioneer guys have.

Very True firebirddude. I personnally love the Pionner P9 and processor combo. Not at all flashy like their regular stuff. ODR Re-Invented. Also The Alpine 7909 and Clarion 9255 and the sony deck (I think it's the 90??) are about the few better/same as far as sound Q goes. Naks are great pieces. High quality sound from and excellent Design and TOP SHELF parts.
