99% of the rattles in our cars are due to a panel being improperly re-installed (very common on door panels) or because a plastic fastener has broken. Some of the larger panels also have what is basically plastic velcro. Often times the plastecro is stronger than the glue used to attach it to the panel and the body, so it comes off as an assembly when you pull the panel. The fuse panel is the first place I can think of, some of the dash and interior panels use it too.
I've found super glue works pretty well to tack these back to the appropriate sides so the velcro works like it should.
Once you take the time to examine the panel in question, the problem should be pretty obvious.
Squeaks are what you've really got to worry about. Rattles are easy.
