turn signal not working?

turn signal not working? does anyone know some possible reasons why the left turn signal on a 95 firebird wouldnt work? if you hit the thing down to turn it on, it will blink once, and then stop. to make the left turn signal keep going you have to keep hitting the arm up and down. anyone know why this would be? how to fix it? thanks.

The Left and Right Signals both use the same flasher.
If one side works and the other doesnt, then the problem is not the flasher.
Try this,
* Turn on the hazards
* Look for the bulb(s) that isnt/arent flashing (that is supposed to flash)
* Inspect the bulb and its socket.
Either the bulb is bad
or the socket is corroded
or there is break in the wire somewhere
Remember, the bulbs are dual filament.
