question bout the monsoon system hey guys, hopefully u can help me out. i plan on installing a cd deck. no subs or anything. i heard if you change the cd deck and all, that u would have to change out all the speakers because of the amp or sub from the monsoon system. is that true? and i wanted to upgrade the stock speakers for something else. nothing expensive cuz i think its going out. what are the sizes for the ones up front and the back seat? also, if i do get some new speakers do i get a 2 way, or 3 way? i dunno.. oh yeah this is for a 2002 z28.

You can replace the head unit without making any other changes to the system. The "Monsoon" head unit is just an ordinary Delco radio - it's the amp and speakers that make the Monsoon system.
Replacing the speakers without rewiring takes careful selection because of the way the Monsoon amp filters signals to some speakers and the way the door speakers are wired (separate components mounted coaxially). There is lots of information on the subject in the Monsoon FAQ thread at the top of the forum.
