Need help please!!!! thunderform Q's

ok i have a 2002 trans am with the moonsoon system. i just bought a mtx thunderform with the amp built in (didn't want a huge system just a lil extra bass) i have been trying to hook it up the last two days......the power, ground, and remote wires........no brainer i have that under controll. but the RCA hook up and which speakers to hook it up to is killing me. i don't know if i should use a line out converter or the wires that were included with the thunderform (which are rca's on one side and wires to be spliced into the speakers on the other side) and if i use one or the other? were do they go??????? i hooked it up and i was geting a horrible sound from the sub. not a clean sound at all. i've had systems in the past. but none of them were in cars that had an amped system like the moonsoon. please help me........ :(

I hooked one up using a line level converter in an Explorer. The one built into the MTX amp doesn't seem to work real well. The line level converter should have hookups for speakers on one side and RCA outputs on the other. Use the rear hatch speakers for your signal and run them into the converter. Then run RCA cable into the internal amp. This should work ok. It won't be very loud as the MTX amp is not very powerful and the use of a line level converter doesn't work quite as well as actual RCA outputs from the back of a HU. The one I did in the Explorer was not very impressive and I ended up just using the enclosure and the sub with another amp. Then it did fine. I also had a thunderform non-amplified version in my own T/A with an RF amp and a HE2 sub in it. Also sounded very good. You probably aren't gonna be real impressed with the MTX amp in the thunderform. Especially when using line level converter with it.

If you have Monsoon wouldn't you want to use the sail panel (rear seat) speakers for the signal, since that's the subs in the car?

ya i used it at first i finally figured out the problem, the sub was blown when shipped to me. thats what the wierd noise was.
